Specializes in the history of Germany, with a particular focus on the GDR and its intelligence services. Analyst for Western policy at The Opportunity Institute for Foreign Affairs. Long-time expert at the Polish Institute of International Affairs. 

Member of the International Association of Intelligence History, lecturer at universities in Poland and Germany. Author of over 150 publications, including 6 independent monographs.
