Tom Hashimoto, LL.M., DPhil (Oxon), FHEA, is an Associate Professor of Economics at Vilnius University and SGH Warsaw School of Economics. He specialises in financial centre development—particularly the FinTech ecosystem and regional resilience—labour market dynamics in financial and business services, and the ethical dimensions of emerging technologies such as AI. For case studies, he focuses on Central and Eastern Europe (especially Poland) and the Baltic states (especially Lithuania). His educational background in Law (Hamburg) and Financial Geography (Oxford) allows him to analyse various institutions in a spatiotemporal manner, highlighting the complex, uneven, and multifaceted nature of financial markets. He is a member of Lions Club (Warszawa Host) and the British Mensa.
